Why am I starting to write?

  • career
  • learning

Improving my skills as a Software Engineer has always been really important for me. Still is. And nowadays maybe even more so. I think this forms the basis for me on why start writing.

I want to hold myself accountable. But I also want to look and see how far I've come. Both of those are surprisingly hard to do. I hope this gives me the platform to accomplish these goals.

It's been an interesting journey so far. I love this field since you never know everything. There's always an unknown and unvisited layer you can go deeper into and then connect it with all the other things you already know. I want to gather my findings and realizations in here.

I would love to be able pass some of the knowledge I have gathered to others. Maybe motivate or spark a discussion. But I would also love to learn from others myself. There are definitely gaps in my knowledge as well. Sharing my ideas here opens possibilities for all of that.

But really I think there's one reason that's even more important for me. Nowadays it often feels like people are starting to lose interest on knowing how things actually work, what is good and what is bad. I want to play my part on reminding that being knowledgeable is still relevant and should always be. I want to form my career on being a professional who knows what they are doing and wants to always aim to be better. I hope you do as well. If so, I think you could find some value from this blog.

Sincerely,

Markus
